Los Angeles residents are still faced with various crises: unemployment, expensive housing, high rate of homelessness, families without food, and so forth. More than 100,000 homeless people without hope sleep in tents and cardboard boxes on the streets and under bridges across Los Angeles. A large percentage of this statistic is made up of entire families and children are especially affected. Many working families have to rely on food stamps because their salaries are not enough to sustain their families.
The Good Shepherds Christian Organization is now faced with a massive demand for food and emergency bills. We are currently liaising with Food Bank in order to have a sustainable food source for the growing need and allow us greater access to other resources. Our main goal is to raise enough funds to rent a new building, buy kitchen equipment, trucks, and vans to ensure the effective, and efficient continuation of the organization’s services and activities.
Since its inception, The Good Shepherds has been funded primarily through individual contributions. A grant from individuals, corporations, and foundations will assist us in reaching our immediate goal and also contribute greatly to the survival and growth of the organization’s vital and far-reaching initiatives.
